Lux Art Institute to Host Designer Estate Sale

ENCINITAS, CA — (February 17, 2009) — Lux Art Institute, San Diego’s
recent recipient of the American Institute of Architects San Diego Chapter top design
award, will host an upscale estate sale to help raise funds for its education programs
on Sat., April 18, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The estate sale will include designer items in good condition and fabulous finds
such as gowns and party dresses, shoes and handbags, sweaters, men's suits, hats,
sports equipment, antiques, furniture and “everything but the kitchen sink.”
All proceeds will go towards Lux education programs that encourage children's artistic
curiosity, including Luxcursion (classroom fieldtrips to Lux,) the Valise Project
(portable museums presented to schools throughout San Diego,) Lux Summer Camp and
Free Saturday.
For those who want to support North County’s newest art venue with some early spring
cleaning, Lux will be accepting clean and unused or gently used designer items thru
Friday, April 17. Drop-off is located at Lux, 1550 South El Camino Real in Encinitas
in the lower parking lot by the green classroom. Drop-off hours are Monday-Friday,
10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Lux hours are Thursday and Friday, 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.; cost
is $10 for two visits.
