Bring an interactive art experience into your virtual classroom! Each valise is a portable work of art that provides students a complete experience – from seeing, discussing, and touching the art to creating works of their own. The Virtual Valise Project allows a Lux Teaching Artist to virtually visit you classroom and lead a discussion and interactive hands-on art making experience. All materials will be provided by Lux for pick-up at your students' school.
The Valise Project is also available digitally with a prerecorded presentation featuring Valise Teaching Artist Justin McHugh with a guided lesson plan for students to follow.

Onsite Opportunities for your classroom will resume once local, state, and federal restrictions in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic allow for the safe reopening of our Education Pavilion facilities.\
Your Luxscurion will begin in the Education Pavilion located at the first building at the bottom of the hill. Led by our teaching artist you will learn about the exhibition at the Brandes Gallery. Immediately after, you will be guided to walk through the sculpture trail and visit the exhibition of our current Artist-in-Residence at the Artist Pavillion. You will learn about the artist, experience the creative process and have in depth conversation about the exhibition. Followed by a related hands-on art project in the Education Pavilion.Luxcursions are available:
Luxcursion's are held Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday mornings at 9:30, 10:00 and 10:30.
Lux can host a maximum of 35 students and 10 minimum per school group.

With curricular connections to math, language arts, social studies, and science, The Valise Project offers a powerful interdisciplinary learning opportunity.
A Lux teacher will bring a valise to your classroom and lead an interactive 2-hour session that includes a project focused on the valise. Before the visit, you will receive a teaching guide with suggestions for incorporating The Valise Project into appropriate grade-level curricula.

Bring your class for an interactive tour that includes a 45-minute docent-led exploration of the artist studio for high school and college groups. Students have the opportunity to meet the artist-in-residence during residency periods or to sketch in the studio during non-residency times.
