K‐8 students experience creativity in action with a field trip to Lux Art Institute. Each Luxcursion includes a docent‐led tour through the artist’s studio, exhibition areas, sculptural installations and native landscape of the Lux grounds. Following the tour, students take part in a hands‐on art project related to the current exhibition(s).
Luxcursions are available:
Thursdays and Fridays during artist‐in‐residency periods; Tuesday through Friday during non‐residency periods. Lux can host a maximum of 32 students per school group.
Bring your class for an interactive tour that includes a 45‐minute docent‐led exploration of the artist studio for high school and college groups. Students have the opportunity to meet the artist‐in‐residence during residency periods or to sketch in the studio during non‐residency times.
Take advantage of the unique opportunity to explore art through an open dialogue with trained Lux Liaisons. Liaisons are on hand to the general public during open hours, or available for reserved guided tours.
Rent the Artist Pavilion, the Education Pavilion, or both, depending on the feeling you want to create for your special event. Lux can accommodate your birthday party, cocktail party, wedding, lecture, dinner, professional development activity, or other private event.
